Lloyd’s Register EMEA (LR) is part of the Lloyd’s Register Group, a global independent risk management and safety assurance organisation that works to enhance safety and to approve assets and systems at sea, on land and in the air. As a class society, the main work of Lloyd’s Register Marine is on classification (based on its own rules) and statutory (as a recognized organization) during the design, construction and operation of ships. LR works closely with other regulatory bodies, either international (e.g. IMO, ISO, IACS), transnational (e.g. EU) or national levels (member states).
Relevant skills
LR- Strategic Research Group (SRG) has experience in defining future scenarios for shipping and naval industries, and emergent technologies LR-SRG has ample experience in collaborative research projects, with over 20 ongoing EU, UK funded projects, where it participates bringing its marine, class and regulatory expertise.
Role in the project and main tasks
LR is leader of WP9 – Assessment of RAS platforms and software tools and WP10 – Dissemination, Exploitation and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). LR participates in WP1, WP2, WP5, WP6, WP7, WP8, WP11 contributing in development of specifications, testing, measurements and regulation.
